
Note: Always replace bearings in pairs.
- Open the mill hood.
- Remove the housing for the first bearing.
- Clean the bearing pad for the housing.
- Clean and deburr the base for the bearing housing.
- Install the new assembly and bolts. Leave the mounting bolts loose.
- Align the housing parallel to edge of the bearing pad.
- Using a mallet, hit the top of the housing to seat it completely.
- Center the rotor to maintain an equal distance between end discs and sidewalls.
- Position the rotor to allow about 3/8 in. between hammers and screen or grate.
- At the housing, tighten each mounting bolt.
- As you tighten the first bolt, a gap opens between the housing and pad on the loose side of the housing.
- Shim the gap.
- Tighten the remaining bolt.
- Repeat for the second bearing.
